He will formally enroll today as a graduate student at the headquarters of the National Open University of Nigeria in Lagos, where he hopes working towards a doctorate degree, beginning first with a Masters degree.

Boko Haram Destroys 500 Houses In Adamawa

I thought the army was winning after the huge success in Konduga but it seems some states like Adamawa has not been covered yet as no fewer  than 500 houses were destroyed in the Kubi and Watu villages in Michika Local Government Areas of Adamawa State as the suspected Boko Haram insurgents operated unchallenged in one of its recent attacks.

Members of the community, says the absence of military personnel in Michika and its environs was responsible for the heavy damage inflicted on them.

They then urged the Federal Government, to as a matter of urgency deploy military personnel to the affected areas to give the people a sense of belonging.

The people Michika faulted the actions of the political class in the state, whom they accused of abandoning them at their trying periods .

$9.3m Arms Deal: Oritsejafor Breaks Silence

The president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, yesterday broke the silence about the controversial $9.3m smuggled into South Africa by two Nigerians and an Israeli, using his private jet, saying his hands are clean.

Oritsejafor spoke during the National Executive Council meeting of CAN at the National Christian Centre, Abuja, saying he waited for today to brief the leaders of the church and explain his position on the issue, because he believes the primary institution he owes an explanation to is the church. Judge Acquits Lagos Assembly Speaker, Ikuforiji

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, has been discharged and acquitted by Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court of alleged money laundering

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC had accused Mr. Ikuforiji and Oyebode Atoyebi, his aide, of laundering about N600 million and were charged to court on June 24, 2013 on 56 counts bordering on conspiracy.

Borno State Government Fund 36 Chibok Girls Into International Schools

At least parents of the saved chibok girls girls can breath a sigh of relieve as things have taken a better shape,The Borno State Government will be spending a minimum of N1.4million annually on each of the 36 Chibok girls out of 57 school girls annually in their new schools, besides other costs for their welfare.

 

36 out of 57 Chibok school girls who escaped from Boko Haram camp in April after they were abducted in their school dormitory have gained admission into international schools in Abuja, Kaduna and Plateau States courtesy of the State Governor who will be funding their fees.
