Ebola: Mark Zuckerberg Donates $25 Million To CDC






Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is a cheerful giver, as the scourge of the Ebola Virus travels round the world, He announced on his Facebook page that he's donating $25 million to the Centers for Disease Control Foundation to help fight Ebola. Read the statement he released:

The Ebola epidemic is at a critical turning point. It has infected 8,400 people so far, but it is spreading very quickly and projections suggest it could infect 1 million people or more over the next several months if not addressed.

Tragedy struck for the Former governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha on sunday,as one of his sons Oyamiefa was murdered in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he was a student. He also debunked the claim by Dubai police that his son committed suicide.

According to Leadership, the late Oyamiefa, 30, who was reportedly killed in the house belonging to his father in the Arab country, was the only person living in the luxury apartment. He was murdered by unknown gunmen who stormed his apartment on Sunday night.

A United Nations worker infected with Ebola has died in hospital in Germany despite intensive medical treatment.
The 56-year-old man was being treated at the St Georg hospital in the eastern German town of Leipzig after being admitted five days ago, according to local officials.

Ebola: Liberian Health Workers Set To Embark On Strike

As the deadly viral disease Ebola continues to send many to untimely death with the highest deaths of 2,316 recorded in Liberia, The health workers in Liberia are planning to embark on strike as they are not happy with the Government on their wages since 95% of them have died from the disease.

The country’s authorities state that although they would love to meet the association’s demands, they are currently unable to do so, as the scale of the epidemic makes it difficult for them to pay the initial risk fee promised.

One of the Oshadipe twins,Taiwo Oshadipe, who died on Friday 3rd October 2014,the funeral was supposed to be held today 10th October 2014,but was postponed till net week in other to plan the funeral better, 

According to Encomium Both Pastor Taiwo Ogunesan and Olumide Akinsanya (the long time manager of the Oshadipe Twins) mentioned the postponement when those who participated in the candle light procession (on Thursday, October 9, 2014) stopped at the twins’ Jibowu Street, Abule Egba (Lagos) residence.

This is somehow scary,whilst the world is dealing with the deadly viral disease called Ebola,and how best to contain it, A man has died in Uganda's capital after an outbreak of Marburg, a highly infectious hemorrhagic fever similar to Ebola, authorities said on Sunday, adding that a total of 80 people who came into contact with him were quarantined. 

Marburg starts with a severe headache followed by hemorrhaging and leads to death in 80 percent or more of cases in about nine days. It is from the same family of viruses as Ebola, which has killed thousands in West Africa in recent months.
