Imo Governorship Rerun Election To Hold April 25th

The Imo state governorship rerun election has been fixed for April 25th. INEC had on Sunday April 12th declared the election between APC candidate, incumbent governor Rochas Okorocha and PDP candidate, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Reps, inconclusive following some electoral irregularities. The rerun election will take place in 256 polling units.

Supreme Court Dimisses Case Against Gov. Fayose

Today's court ruling has favored Governor Ayo Fayose Of Ekiti State. The court dismissed the suit by the All Progressives Congress, challenging his eligibility to contest the 21 June, 2014 election in the state and that Fayose’s impeachment in 2006 was not enough to unseat him as the elected governor.

As the Gubernatorial and House of Assembly take place today in different states,Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, has said he is ready to congratulate whoever emerges the winner of the governorship election in the state, if he loses the poll.
He stated this in an interview with journalists minutes after casting his vote at Ogboko Ward 2 in Ideato South Local Government Area of the state on today 

“I will congratulate whoever wins the election. Why not? But, first, let us do things properly,” Okorocha said.
