Nollywood star Kunle Afolayan has joined the league of GLO ambassadors as telecommunications company Globacom recently named the award winning actor-director as one of it’s ambassadors. Also, we’re told Yoruba home video star Odunlade Adekola has been appointed a Glo ambassador too.
The endorsement according to Afolayan will last for a period of two years and will see him attend to matters of public interest. ‘Yes I was appointed today and I feel excited being associated with a big brand like Globacom. I hope I can do more beyond the work of a brand ambassador. I want to use this position to affect lives positively‘, Afolayan delightfully expressed in a telephone conversation with Nigerian Entertainment Today (NET)(source).
These new appointments follow GLO’s 2010 endorsement deal with pop duoPsquare. The four-year deal is worth at least N240M.
Kunle Afolayan who started out in the banking sector while playing minor roles before moving full time into movie making is the director of the award winning movieThe Figurine and Irapada. A graduate of the New York Film Academy, he is highly recognized and respected in the Nigerian film industry. Afolayan is the son of late actor-producer Ade Love.
Afolayen and Adekola now join the likes of Ramsey Noah, Ini Edo, Monalisa Chinda, Funke Akindele and Sammie Okposo as ambassadors of the telecoms brand owned by Billionaire Mike Adenuga.
