Its one thing to walk in the streets with placards and sign showing we need our girls back, Its another to actually feel the urge to sing about the wrong doings of Boko Haram,Reggae/Dancehall singer, African China has
revealed that his colleagues have rejected joining him to fight the Boko Haram
menace through music. He said that he had a new song called Boko Haram, but his
fellow colleagues refused to join him and be the voice of the people. African
China, who has given his life to Christ and might soon be a gospel singer also
said the government is at fault for the Boko Haram crisis.
When told to explain his song Boko Haram He said: The evil in mankind. If Nigerians wanted President Goodluck Jonathan to resign, trust me, it is not a thing of killing innocent souls. If you do not want Jonathan, it is as simple as rebelling like campaign just ok ooo, you promised us good road, good health, electricity, fuel but scarcity and you have not delivered. But the issue of taking lives, I don’t buy the idea. That was why I stood up to write that song. When I wanted to do the song, I called few of my colleagues that I wanted to do a song of such, they were all happy and they were like ‘it’s good’. But when it was time to do it, everyone started running. The next thing they said was; ‘na you now, you are the best man in position to talk about that thing, you know me I can’t,’ and that was it. Well, It’s obviously easier and safer for African China’s ‘colleagues’ to carry #BringBackOurGirls placards than lend their voices to a song directed at the evil menace in our country, Boko Haram…… After all, #BringBackOurGirls was like a hip thing!
