Nassarawa Lawmakers Begin Impeachment Proceedings Against The Governor

The famous saying that politician are not interested in the welfare of the masses but on a journey of self preservation has taken recurrent turn in the popular Nigerian Politics. Is this the situation in Nassarawa State? The Governor of Nassarawa State, Umaru Al-Makura is currently on Hot seat now as Nassarawa State House of Assembly members have commenced impeachment proceedings against him. At its plenary session this morning, the Speaker of the House, Ahmed Mohammed, directed its clerk, Ego Maikeffi to issue a 16-count charge impeachment notice, signed by 20 of the 24 lawmakers, to the governor for alleged gross misconduct, extra-budgetary expenses and  misappropriation of funds.Nasarawa has 20 PDP, lawmakers and four APC, lawmakers. The governor is a member of the APC.

    Political brouhaha and social embembem. This politics is becoming uninteresting. The common man is hapless. Social equilibrium is what we desire, not jingoism.
