Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has directed workers in the state
Public Service to shun the strike action embarked upon by the Nigeria
Labour Congress and stay at their duty posts.
He warned that any worker who did not come to work under the guise of participating in a strike will forfeit his or her pay.
Several government ministries located at Ezoti street, in Benin, were placed under locks and keys today, following the strike called by the NLC. Also, those who reported for duty at the secretariat building located along Sapele road were chased out by members of the NLC.
The government in a statement has however said, all workers are expected to be at their duty posts or forfeit their salaries.
