Abductors of two wives of Nasarawa Commissioner for Local Government and
Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Aliyu Ahmed, on Saturday reportedly demanded
N50m ransom before they would be released.
Sunday Punch gathered that the kidnappers had made repeated calls to Ahmed threatening not to release his wives unless the ransom was paid.
“They (kidnappers) demanded that I should give them plenty money, but I told them that I don’t have money to give anybody,” Ahmed told Punch in a telephone interview.
The gunmen had invaded Nasarawa town on Thursday night, abducted the commissioner’s two wives and took them to an undisclosed destination.
