Kate Bush, 53, is back on the Brits nomination list having previously been nominated 10 times but only winning once.
However despite competition from Bush, Florence Welch, Laura Marling and Jessie J, Adele is the favourite to pick up the Best Female award.
The singer, who was the standout star at last year's awards, has been nominated in three categories, and her stiffest competition for the British Album of the Year, comes from PJ Harvey and Florence Welch.
Things are a lot less clear cut in the men's categories however with Coldplay, Kasabian, Elbow and Arctic Monkeys all nominated in the British Group category.
With Noel Gallagher in the solo category, and Blur picking up an Outstanding Contribution to Music Award, you could be forgiven for thinking we were back in in the Britpop era.
However of the men, the spotlight will certainly be on 20-year-old singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, who has four nominations to his name.
