Nnamdi Azikwe’s First Son Passes On

Chief Chukwuma Bamidele Azikiwe, the first son of the first President of Nigeria, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe is dead. He died at 75.

Chukwuma passed on at the Borommeo Hospital, Onitsha, in the early hours of Sunday. Details about his funeral would be announced later in accordance with the Onitsha customs and tradition.

U.S Cops Fired Over Death Of 21-Year-Old Nigerian, Matthew Ajibade

Nine police deputies in Georgia, U.S have been fired in connection with the death of a 21-year-old Nigerian student, Matthew Ajibade who suffered from bipolar disorder.

Chatham County Sheriff’s spokeswoman, Gena Bilbo, says this is in relation to the case of Matthew Ajibade, who died in an isolation cell on New Year’s Day. 

Arrested for allegedly attacking his girlfriend, Ajibade, who suffered from bipolar disorder, was arrested on January 1. Reports indicate that during his episode, a physical altercation with three deputies resulted, leaving one with a broken nose.

Following the increasing queues in most filling stations in the country ,the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and its downstream subsidiary, the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company (PPMC), said they had 1.2 billion litres of petrol in stock.
