What more can we say to a beautiful soul who came saw and conquered,Dora Nkem Akunyili was one the best Director General of National Agency for Food and Drugs Control (NAFDAC) of Nigeria,She totally turned NAFDAC into a place of integrity,Her resilience to bring dignity to the Agency made us believe for a better tomorrow. You are one of the best that Nigeria ever saw as Diligence and Integrity was your key word even as the Nigerian Minister of Information and Communications from 2008 to 2010.Dora Akunyili died in an India hospital on the 7th of June, 2014 after a battle with Cancer.
Chidiogo, one of the children of the late former Director-General, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, Prof. Dora Akunyili, has described the final moments she spent with her mother in a touching tribute she posted on Facebook.
It goes:
To many, she was an icon, to others, she was an inspiration, to me, she was my mother and all of the above. What I told her just last week stays with me. “I am your daughter, and you raised me, you have been (in the midst of everything), mummy and that is the strength that is now mine and all of us your children. it is also the strength of a whole nation…you touched so many lives, and that is a blessing that must not be taken lightly.” Thank you all so much my dear friends from the bottom of my heart for your kind words. Mummy, may your soul rest in eternal peace, one with God, who you loved and served above all else.
