Most people live relatively uneventful lives but Frano Selak, an 81 year old man from Croatia, not only walked away from a series of terrible accidents throughout his life, but also managed to win 600,000 Pounds in the lottery.
Although some lottery winners just squander their winnings, Frano maintained his usual lifestyle, but used the money to help relatives. In fact, he sold all the luxury items he already possessed, and decided all he needed was enough money for a hip replacement.

Although most people would consider that he’s been fortunate in actually surviving a series of accidents and disasters, Frano figures that he was unlucky to have been in them in the first place, and he may well have a point.
Among the many serious incidents Frano has survived are a train derailment and subsequent immersion in an icy river, a fall from a plane, his car catching fire, his car flying off the side of a mountain, getting run over by a bus, having the bus in which he was riding drive into a river, various broken bones and hypothermia. Luck or not, this is one tough man.
The winning lottery ticket was the first one that Frano ever bought, but now he’s just looking forward to living out his live with wife number 5.
