As South Africans mourn the death of Bafana Captain Senzo Meyiwa,The police has released composite images of
two men suspected of the crime.The 27-year-old goalkeeper was gunned down after an
altercation with burglars that broke into the house of his pop star
girlfriend, Kelly Khumalo last Sunday. Police launched a manhunt and
earlier on today released the sketches that were recreated from eyewitness
descriptions.
A reward of 250,000 rand ($23,000) has been offered for any information
leading to the arrest of Meyiwa's killer. Local media reports that Meyiwa's
family have also hired private investigators to conduct a parallel probe of the
death.
Meyiwa, who recently fathered a child with his
pop-star girlfriend, is understood to have been on his way to meet his wife at
a party when he was killed in cold blood.
MailOnline understands that the
athlete had rekindled his relationship with Miss Khumalo after admitting lying
to the pop-star and his wife in order to see both of them and continued to
see both women at the same time.
