Thieves stole 10 bags of 'special grade' human hair from an Indian temple . According to reports, the hair was donated by
devotees at the Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple near the city of
Vishakhapatnam. Police suspect
that they entered from a terrace using a rope and then headed to the
store on the first floor, and that the theft may be an inside job.The stolen hair worth $10,950 (750,000 Rupes)...
Thousands of pilgrims from the surrounding states visit the temple every day, and shave their heads to offer their hair as an offering to the deity. A special division called the Kesh Kandana Sala (tonsuring centre) sorts the hair according to length and quality, and then auctions it off.
