Former Secretary to the Delta State Government, Obaisi Ovie Omo-Agege,
has assured Deltans that they will not regret having him as governor if
given the mandate to rule the state in 2015.
He gave the assurance while
addressing executive members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in
Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu local government areas, as part of
his state-wide consultation with stakeholders on his governorship bid.
Omo-Agege also assured Deltans
that he would retain, expand and provide more funding for the Delta
State Micro Credit Programme (DSMCP), which has brought happiness to
many families.
The guber aspirant reiterated
his determination to addressing the challenges of insecurity and
unemployment, saying he will initiate policies that would enhance job
creation for the teeming unemployed youths across the state.
While acknowledging that
Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has performed exceedingly well in the
implementation of his three-point agenda, Omo-Agege enumerated the
various completed and ongoing projects embarked upon by the governor
across the state.
“Our former governor, Chief
James Ibori, laid the foundation; Uduaghan has built on it and I want to
take it from there to the next level.”
He urged Deltans to give him the baton of governance, which Uduaghan must handover in May next year.
“Constitutionally, Uduaghan will hand over the baton of governance on May 29, 2015 and I want to be the recipient of the baton.”
He reiterated his commitment to
protect Uduaghan legacies by completing projects initiated by the
governor but remain uncompleted at the time of handover.
“We will protect Uduaghan’s
legacies. We know he cannot complete all projects initiated by his
administration. So before I commence my own projects, I will complete
those started by Uduaghan because the projects he has embarked upon are
those that will add
value to the lives of the people.”
