You may call him your own Ricky Ross, but he sings like a music maestro; with strong vocal cords he disseminates musical notes, velvety and apposite to a string. Born Solomon Onyekwere but popularly called OBVIOUS with streams of nick names; Mr. Motivation, Mr Hook, Imo Kid. Obvious is a prolific singer and songwriter, his forte is R&B/Hip Hop. He is Tall, dark, handsome and young, yes, taller than Tuface same height as Drake. They say ladies love their guys tall, well, Mr. Motivation hails from Imo State (Owerri), Nigeria. With a unique sense of musical variegation, his versatility stands him apart with style. Since 2002 when he started his musical career, he has been able to define the Nigerian style and of course the contemporary music. His blend is a huge calculated attempt to appease his Nigerian fans and International listeners at a go.
Coming from a long trailing distance, the Nigerian true born dream released his first single called “Victory” which featured Vector Tha viper from his soon to be released album (Mr. Motivation), Victory has a video and it enjoys airplay on TV and of course radio. Obvious in his words, “I aspire to raise my game, push the creative envelope and transcend music stereotypes for the benefit of good music.”.
While Victory is still enjoying massive airplay, he shocks us with yet another hit single, 100%. We are still in the euphoria of Victory, having yet to consume the “sweetness” of the song in 100%, he leads us with the song titled: 100%. His new single “100%” is the official 2nd single of the same soon to be released “Mr. Motivation” Album. The song was recorded in Lagos, produced by MUNO and Mastered by “SAMKLEF”.
The last quarter of the year, 2011 will definitely be a year of “100% Victory” and Obvious is without a doubt here to stay and make a statement in the Nigeria Music industry.
