While speaking to reporters about his new show Touch at the Television Critics Association winter tour in the US, Sutherland also said that the timeline for the movie's plot would be "relatively a direct continuation" of the final episode of the series.
"We're talking maybe six months from the end of that episode," he said.
Sutherland confirmed that the film, like the series, would focus on a 24-hour period.
