The 61-year-old Tina Knowles mother of
pop superstar Beyoncé has now opened up on the day, revealing that "it
couldn't have been more perfect." She recently married her partner Richard Lawson on board a
gorgeous boat moored outside of Newport Beach
Tina touchingly spoke to People about her special day that had her
grandchildren, three-year-old Blue Ivy, and Solange's 10-year-old son
Julez, acted as flower girl and ring bearer respectively. She said:
"To walk down the aisle and see all my friends and family and to see my handsome man standin' there, and to know that at 61 you can still find love and have a magical day like that … it was really beautiful.
Tina revealed that Blue Ivy was the one who first brought up the idea of
marriage by asking them when they were going to get married during a
vacation with Beyoncé and Jay Z last September.
‘Richard said, ‘Oh, Blue, soon. Do you approve?’ And she said yes. That’s the first time we talked seriously about getting married.''Tina was divorced from Matthew Knowles in 2011 and tells People:
‘There was a time when I doubted if I would find love again. But I was determined to be happy, and God sent somebody into my life. You can find love at any age. You just have to go for it.’
