Today's court ruling has favored Governor Ayo Fayose Of Ekiti State. The court dismissed the suit by the All Progressives
Congress, challenging his eligibility to contest the 21 June, 2014 election in the state and that Fayose’s impeachment in 2006 was not enough to unseat him as the elected governor.

In the lead judgment delivered by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, the apex court dismissed all the grounds of appeal filed by the petitioner – the All Progressives Congress.
The APC alleged irregularities, intimidation of its leaders by the military, ineligibility of Fayose to stand for the election in 2014.They also alleged he forged his Higher National Diploma certificate presented to INEC.
