Abuja Airport Runway To Be Shut Down for 3 Days Due To Rehabilitation

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria(p (FAAN) said Abuja Airport runway would be closed to traffic due to maintenance work schedulled for the weekend.According to Yakubu Dati, FAAN’s spokesman “the runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe InternationalAirport, Abuja will be closed to traffic for maintenance from Saturday, July 5 to Monday, July 7, 2014.”

The  Coordinating General Manager,Aviation Parastatals Yakubu Dati released a statement concerning this news, Dati said, was in line with ICAO requirements and NCAA approved safety and Standard and Recommended Practices (SARPs),will further elevate safety and security to greater heights.He said FAAN apologised for the inconvenience this temporary closure would cause air passengers and airline operators.
