World Press Photo Exhibition


Its Here again,LagosPhoto Foundation is pleased to announce the grand opening of the prestigious World Press Photo Exhibition on July 4th at Freedom Park, Hospital Road, Lagos, from 6pm. The exhibition will run from July 4th – 23rd, 2014.
Founded in 1955 as an independent non profit organization based in the Netherlands; World Press Photo (WPP) is recognized as the word’s most prestigious contest for photojournalism and offers a rare and iconic snapshot of global issues and life around the world. Exhibited without censorship in 50 countries all over the world, the World Press Photo exhibition offers an international showcase for all of the competition's prize-winning entries, and is considered by many to set a standard in the field of photojournalism.

World Press Photo is committed to supporting and advancing high standards in photojournalism and documentary photography worldwide. The WPP exhibition brings together award-winning photographs from around the world, which capture the most powerful and moving images of the year. Hosting World Press Photo in Lagos will provide a platform for professionals to network globally while generating wide public interest and appreciation for the work of photographers.
Partnering with World Press Photo (WPP) gives LagosPhoto an opportunity to share the previous year’s best press photography with the wider Lagos community as well as provide capacity building opportunities for local photographers. World Press Photo is considered the most prestigious competition and exhibition of documentary photography worldwide
